Bennett's Story

Holy Family Sports Information Director Greg Pellegrino and his wife Mary welcomed their first child–Bennett–into the world on June 12.

According to Greg, “Bennett was born 3.5 months premature after Mary was rushed to Abington Memorial Hospital and was diagnosed with HELLP Syndrome.”  He continues, “The wonderful neonatologists explained that, for the well being of both mother and son, Bennett would be arriving earlier than anyone had anticipated.”

On June 12 at 5:28 pm Bennett Anthony was delivered, weighing in at 1 lb. 2oz.

He was then rushed over to the Special Care Nursery at Abington.  He is now currently receiving extensive medical intervention at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

The Holy Family community is coming together to support Greg and his family in this trying time. Athletic Director Sandy Michael and her staff have launched the Bennett Pellegrino Fund to assist Greg and Mary as much as possible.

Greg has worked tirelessly to support the University’s teams and student-athletes. If you would like to support his family in their time of need, please click the 'Donate' link below to make a donation to the Bennett Anthony Pellegrino Fund.
